2008 OLYMPIA WEEKEND: WOMEN'S PREJUDGINGPrejudging report, photos and video from women's prejudgingSeptember 26, 2008 by George DePirro FLEXONLINE.COM Competition at the 2008 Olympia Weekend got off to a rousing start as the three women's Olympia events concluded prejudging Friday afternoon at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Finals for the Ms. Olympia and Fitness Olympia arrive tonight at 7 PM at the Orleans Arena. WOMEN'S BODYBUILDING Three-time Ms. Olympia Iris Kyle looks on track to capture her third consecutive title. She promised to be ready and she was. Her side-triceps shot was exemplary, and her definition could be her best yet. Dayana Cadeau and Lisa Aukland are battling for the runner-up position, with 2005 Ms. Olympia Yaxeni Oriquen-Garcia and late qualifier Betty Viana-Adkins also making the first callout. FIGURE Gina Aliotti, who was the runner-up in last year's contest, has the inside track at becoming the third Figure Olympia champion. Jenn Gates and Zivile Raudoniene have distinctly different bodytypes, so it will be up to the judges which they prefer or if they change what seemed like a clear choice for Aliotti in the prejudging. Reigning champ Jenny Lynn, Mary Lado and Sonia Adcock are also in the running for the top five in the finals to be held Saturday night before the Mr. Olympia finals. FITNESS Jen Hendershott, Tracey Greenwood, Julie Palmer and Kim Scheideler (formerly Klein) scored well in the physique-comparison rounds. Greenwood had exceptional definition and Hendershott was quite shredded and displayed her abs in sharp relief. Scheideler was fuller than she was last year, and it's going to come down to how much the judges like to see separation as to who is going to come out on top from these rounds. All four of these women are known for solid exciting routines, so they all should get the crowd rocking at Orleans Arena tonight. A nice touch came when reigning champ Adela Garcia presented he participation medals to her peers along with plenty of hugs.
