NICOLE WILKINS LEE WINS THE 2009 FIGURE OLYMPIA

Second-year pro climbs to the top of the figure mountain

In yet another in a string of exciting decisions on this evening, Nicole Wilkins-Lee bested precontest favorite Gina Aliotti to capture the Figure Olympia at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night. In only her second year in the professional ranks, Wilkins-Lee's Olympia victory capped a phenomenal year. She won the first pro contest of her career earlier this year at the Europa Show of Champions, then captured the New York Pro Figure title last weekend. With the win, the 25-year-old Wilkins-Lee managed to reach the top of her sport with time on her side.

For Aliotti, the runner-up finish was her third straight in the Figure Olympia.

Rising star Heather Mae French took third. Kristal Richardson filled in the fourth spot while Amy Fry quarter-turned her way into the top five.
