The contest which debuted in 1982 with Lee Haney beating out Mike Quinn for the heavyweight and overall title. Since then, the Junior Nationals have been a springboard to stardom for competitors such as Phil Heath (2005 heavyweight and overall) and Jenn Gates (2007 figure class A winner).
