The Final Week
Well, it’s almost time to put down the donut and pick up the broccoli. I just found out a couple days ago that I start dieting for the FLEX Pro on Saturday and I’m actually pretty excited about it. In an effort to pack on as much weight as I could and salvage a pretty bad offseason I have been eating like a beast and I’m sick of being fat and bloated all the time..lol
As some of you know I worked with Chad Nichols for about four years when doing the Canadian Nationals, earning my pro card and then getting my feet wet in the IFBB. For whatever reason a couple years ago I decided to make the switch to Hany Rambod to see how my body would respond to his type of system.
I have made great breakthroughs in my career with Hany but I felt it was time for me to make another change to keep my body fresh and return to what worked for me in the past.
Chad and I have teamed up again for the FLEX Pro and I am excited to see what the Diet Doc can do with my physique after I’ve acquired all this new muscle. The last time I worked with Chad I was going on stage at around 240, this year I should hit the stage around 255lbs so its something I’m really excited to see!
This past weekend was the last show of the year in Ontario and as some of you know I always like to attend the local shows and visit with old friends and make some new ones in the process. Seth Feroce was the guest poser here and I got to say out of all the IFBB Pros I have met Seth is definitely a stand up guy without a bad bone to be seen.
I have to say he has really packed on the mass this year and it is noticeable. Bigger legs, bigger back and everything looks ready for the open class. I’m excited for him, I’m not sure if I’ll get to compete against him this year but he knows I’ll kick his ass..lol (I hope your reading this Seth).
Seeing Seth made me take an even harder look at myself and what I was doing. I gained a lot of weight these last few weeks and I couldn’t be happier. The one thing that has hindered me a bit in this last week or so is my strength gains have started to plateau. I mean I guess I can’t keep getting stronger week after week forever, eventually things have to subside and I will have to break this plateau. That’s the key though. It’s about not stopping. Sometimes we go into the gym and we’re not racking up personal bests, I know guys who get pissed and want to leave. Personally I change things up, add some drop sets, supersets, whatever it is but I make sure I’m killin it one way or another.
So ya the strength is down but the drive is up. The FLEX Pro diet starts in a week and there is no stopping me now, I’ve gone through everything this offseason, a torn tendon, financial issues, personal issues, and car issues..lol, you name it. All of it doesn’t matter, the goal is in just over 12 weeks and that’s my first pro win at the FLEX Pro!
