The IFBB arrives in Australia for the Grand Prix

March 7, 2008

We're nearly 7,500 miles away and one full day behind, but just because Australia is halfway across the globe doesn't mean we won't be bringing you all the news from the 2008 Australian Pro Grand Prix. Thanks to IFBB Judge John Tuman, we'll keep you updated as best we can as to what's going on down under as Tuman provides us with photos and commentary throughout the weekend on the FLEX blog.

It's been a long week for many of the competitors, most of whom have competed in at least one contest already this year, and some of whom competed at last weekend's Arnold Classic. Headlining the list of entrants is Arnold Classic champ Dexter Jackson. Hot off his win in Columbus, it remains to be seen whether Jackson can hold the conditioning and fullness that propelled him to victory.

Others vying for spots in the top three and Olympia qualifications are Toney Freeman, who showed improvement over his last two outings at the Arnold but has yet to regain his form of early 2007; Melvin Anthony, who should be on a mission after his disappointing finish in Columbus; Troy Alves, who is looking to get his career back on track after a subpar 2007 season; Moe Elmoussawi, who finished third three weeks ago at the Ironman Pro; and 2007 Australian Pro Grand Prix runner-up Ronnie Rockel.

Check back later today for pictures from the prejudging and commentary from Tuman.
