Eddie Hall Sets New Strongman Deadlift World Record of 1,102.31 pounds

That’s 500 kg, or half a ton, or un-freaking believable.

Strongman Eddie Hall etched his name into the history books when he became the first man to strongman deadlift 500 kg at the World Deadlift Championships at the Leeds Arena in Leeds, England. As you see the deadlift took an awful lot out of the Englishman, who was weak and bleeding from the nose after the effort. He reportedly passed out after the lift but subsequently recovered to waive to the crowd. Check out the amazing feat of strength:

"That nearly killed me. The pressure on my body was surreal. I passed out after. I had nose bleeds. It's not healthy doing something like that. But I've done it. I'm sure it will be in the history books for a very long time," said "The Beast," who stands 6'3" and weighs some 400 pounds.

This video has an interview with Hall after he set the record:

Congratulations to "The Beast" on this amazing achievement!
