“The Greatest of all Time!” No other bodybuilder in the history of the sport has made a greater impact than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold has become an icon, a symbol of a cultural movement: five-time Mr. Universe, seven-time Mr. Olympia winner, successful contest promoter, worldwide ambassador for his sport, and celebrity of the highest order. On the cover for this month’s FLEX, we are proud to put Arnold Schwarzenegger on the cover with some classic black and whites that you will find only in FLEX magazine.
This issue of FLEX contains our new format. You will notice new authors: Bryan Haycock, Neil Hill, John Kiefer, Chad Nicholls, Charles Poliquin, and many more whom we want to welcome to the Weider/AMI family. Additionally, we have brought back the Weider Question and Answer columns, in which you will find training tips, nutrition, advice and much more exclusively from our Weider/AMI athletes.
March is notable for this special issue of FLEX and because it’s the month in which the Arnold Sports Festival is held in Columbus, OH. Since its debut in 1989, the Arnold has been a highlight of the year for the entire fitness industry, including athletes and fans, and in 2012 it’s bigger than ever. I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to promoters Jim Lorimer and Arnold Schwarzenegger for carrying on a tradition of excellence and doing their part to spread the word of the importance of health and fitness throughout the world.
