Get Lean with Mango

If you're going to eat fruit, make it mango.

If you’re going to eat fruit, make it a mango—they may be able to delay the growth of fat cells. That’s according to the latest research from Oklahoma State University. In the study, mice were fed a high-fat diet for eight weeks that included either freeze-dried mango, fenofibrate, or rosiglitazone—the latter two medicines that lower cholesterol and triglycerides and increase cell insulin sensitivity, respectively. The study also included a control group, which was fed a normal diet and, as a result, gained no fat. By the end of the study, the mice in the mango group—despite their unhealthy diet—had developed the same body composition as those in the control group.
