IFBB athletes pick the team they believe will win the 2009 World Series
October 16, 2009
A lot of baseball fans have already handed the New York Yankees the World Series trophy this season. Let's face it: they're stacked.
But some of the IFBB Pro League athletes had differing opinions on the matter. Of course, there were some wishful thinkers who were rooting for a team that was bounced out of the playoffs early (ahem, Mr. Cutler), but were still kind enough to answer us us anyway.
NICOLE'S PICK: Yankees winning, 4-1
WHY: When you spend a $161 million over 7 years for a pitcher, your team better win!
MELVIN'S PICK: Angels
WHY: I will go with the Angels because I like the colors of their uniform.
TEAMS: Yankees-Any team
ADELA'S PICK: Yankees
WHY: I think a great World Series matchup would be the Colorado Rockies vs. New York Yankees, but that's not happening. I would ultimately like to see the Yankees win since I have a lot of family that live in New York, and I know that they will be rooting for the Yanks.
TEAMS: Who cares
BRANDON'S PICK: Who cares
WHY: Baseball puts me to sleep!
PETER'S PICK: Phillies.
WHY: I've had two Yankee hats that have been chewed up by my boxers. It's an omen. So if the Phillies win I can get a new Phillies hat - the P can represent myself as well.
TRACEY'S PICK: Phillies
WHY: I'm from Philadelphia.
DENNIS' PICK: ?
WHY: I have absolutely no clue when it comes to baseball. I don't know who's playing, and I really don't even like watching it. I grew up in Germany where baseball did not exist.
In the We Appreciate Your Response But Your Team Was Eliminated department:
All I cared to see was Red Sox-Yanks... for a month it was all Red Sox at my house.
I wanted to see the Rockies and Yankees! I gotta root for the home team... and Colorado fans are the best!
